Van der Horst Biodiesel has chosen Jatropha Curcas a non-edible plant oil as the main feedstock for the production of its Biodiesel.

Van der Horst Biodiesel has a four pronged approached for the growing of the Jatropha Curcas. The four modes are: Direct Ownership, Joint participation with Land owners; Contract Farming and Public Private Partnership (PPP)

Van der Horst Biodiesel will employ state-of-the-art tissue culture for mass propagation for quality control and achieve consistent high yield from the trees.

Van der Horst Biodiesel will introduce its scientific plantation management in the plantations from land mapping; soil analyst and preparation; irrigation and harvesting, disease and pest control to oil expelling to ensure profitable and sustainable development.

Its R&D is committed to improve strain for better yield and disease resistant and effectiveness of the plantations in harvesting and oil expelling.
